Icing/Frosting

Waking up to frost is a new thing for me. If it is a new thing for you too, it’s when its gets soooooooooooooo cold (like below 0’C) that the moisture in the air freezes. Generally it freezes around something so you get these very pretty frosted or iced things: leaves, sticks, blades of grass, cars  etc etc. It’s very different to snow.

I was taking some photos on my trusty camera phone of the frost and then it dawned on me: that’s why we call the powder sugar on top of a cake “icing” or “frosting”. That’s really what it looks like. What an epiphany!
